Youth Club

We are expecting to run the 7pm Friday Youth Club during the school holidays over July and August but not on Friday 2nd September. Those leaving primary school this year are welcome to join us. We are still waiting for some hot sunny weather to give us an excuse to deploy the water slide.

We now have dates for the summer youth days out. The two trips will be on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 25th August with the first intended to be a trip to the beach and the second, the welsh waterfalls walk. If the weather on the 9th is not inspiring enough for a day on the beach, we may swap the destinations around. Those wanting to come need to sign up in advance and there are limitations as to how many we can transport. There is no cost but a packed lunch and snack money is needed.

Hymn & Prayer

This takes place in the common room at the Broadfield sheltered housing scheme at 2pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month. EMC and the Parish Church work together to provide this and it is open to residents and others who would like to join them. Tea and coffee follow.

Café Church

The Café Church on 7th August will be the last to take place on the first Sunday of the month. From September, we are moving to second Sundays, as these tend to clash with fewer other things. Therefore the September Café Church will be on 11th. The July Café Church was preceded by a youth sleepover. Part of this involved producing pictures of the types of ground encountered in the parable of the sower (Luke 8: 5-15).

The picture depicts the thorny ground where Jesus said to His disciples: “The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature”.
