Parish Matters

by the community, for the community

We’re now well into summer and I hope you’re enjoying the few days of sunshine.  It’s lovely having the longer days to enjoy and get a few things done in the garden.

Fundraising is going well for the defibrillators, thank you to everyone.  We have also been successful in a grant application to the British Heart Foundation so we will be able to purchase 3 defibrillators and are enquiring if we can have a 4th.  We are now talking to groups and businesses about locating the defibs around the parish so that they are accessible to the public 24 hours a day.

Other projects we are working on include further repairs to the churchyard wall and improvements to the burial ground, for example row markers so that it is easier to search for family graves.

We are also building a new website as our current website will cease to be managed by Stroud District Council by December.

The Parish Council is aware of the problems with car parking in the village and there are plans to hold a public meeting to discuss the matter and generate some ideas that we suggest to Gloucestershire Highways.

Please do come along to parish council meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month.
