Eastington Horse Show

It seemed unbelievable that another year had passed and we were in the frantic preparations to get another show off the ground.

It is a lovely old pasture, but systematic archaeological digging across the field required a lot of preparation to stage the show.

The sun shone, and most of the rings were well supported.

Coloured horses seem to be very popular and completely filled the rings in some of the classes.

The class catering for ’horses suitable for driving’ had Shire horses to the other extreme – a 12.0hh Welsh pony.

There was much enjoyment in the gymkhana ring, and some very colourful, imaginative and topical fancy dress competitors.

A lot of work is required to get the show organised, and we are indebted to so many who unstintingly give their time and efforts, not least to control the traffic.
