Youth Club News

Every two years the Bristol District of the Methodist Church organises a youth weekend. This draws together  young people from church based youth groups from quite a wide area for two nights away and a series of fun activities and visits followed by a church service on the Sunday morning. This is taking place on October 13th - 15th based at Nailsea and a group of us are going from Eastington.

The youth club continues to meet on Friday evenings at 7pm. Although it has not been a particularly sunny summer, it has been a fairly dry one so the young people have enjoyed trips to the OHMG to use the exiting and new facilities there for part of the evening. The evenings are now dark so we have issued a questionnaire to find out what primarily indoors activities the young people would like us to arrange over the coming months. New faces are welcome.

The second trip was to Rest Bay near Porthcawl on a day when the weather forecast was cool, grey and wet (which it was in Eastington). However, we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine and had a great time.

Over the summer we had a couple of really good days out. One was a waterfall walk in South Wales but to a different location to previous years.

This one offered the opportunity to go swimming in (very cold) pools in the river as well as seeing some very beautiful waterfalls.

In addition to our normal services and activities, we have a number of special events coming up including a Harvest Café Church with a guest speaker from Compassion and a Messy Autumn Half Term event (see below). We have now finished the Life Explored course so our Tuesday evening Bible study house group has resumed at The Pike Lock House but starting at 7:30pm instead of 8:00pm. This should enable an earlier finish which we hope will  help some attendees.
