The Yard Trail

Everyone I spoke to throughout the day, whether selling or buying, spoke of what a great day they had had, not just with purchases/sales but also with meeting friends (both old and new) and enjoying the wonderful feeling of the whole village coming together!

Huge thanks go to everyone who made Sunday what it was…  Those who had faith and took a punt on signing up to a new event, not knowing whether anyone would come out to buy anything!   Those who came out (in force) looking for bargains, without any idea of what would be for sale and what the weather had in store for us!   Our two fantastic village pubs (The Kings Head House Hotel and the Old Badger Inn) for being so accommodating of stalls, posters, forms and maps!   The Parish Council and the Co-op for displaying posters for us!   The Big Red Bus Bar for the loan of tables!  Those who used our tables and donated so generously towards Eastington Playgroup!   And anyone else I've missed!

What a fantastic day the first ever Eastington Yard Trail turned out to be!

( - and for those of you still wondering, it is simply a village-wide  car-boot sale  -  held in driveways and front gardens  -  so that you can wander around the village picking up bargains as you go!). Ed.

A special ‘congratulations’ goes to Lizzie Mills and her neighbours, who raised a whopping £400+ for Helen & Douglas House, the charity they decided to donate all of their takings to!

It's was a truly fantastic day, and I think we can all look forward to the next one (planned for the Spring) knowing it'll be even bigger and better than round one!
