Home-Start Stroud District is a local charity which supports  parents who are going through challenging times.  Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very difficult, especially when children are young, if you have little support from friends and family or if you are also having to cope with issues such as post-natal depression or disabilities.

That’s when parents need support.  That’s when Home-Start Stroud can help.

Home-Start recruits and trains local volunteers.  A carefully selected volunteer, who has parenting experience themselves, regularly visits a family, in their own home, offering emotional and practical support  for as long as it is needed. This friendly parent-to-parent support is a simple yet effective way of enabling families to get back on track.
