Steady progress at the second ECO orchard saw a cattle-proof set of gates being hung.

John demonstrated the self-closing pedestrian gate which is built into the 3-metre wide gate, whilst Kyle, Kev and Tom relax after a hard morning’s post-hole excavation.

Behind them, you can see the field can now be cut with the new sit-on mower – well, 90% of it can. Next steps will be a tool shed, leading us to preparation of plots for the first 20 trees, now in Coneygree  Orchard.
