I was looking forward to the walk on 19th June, but, the dreaded Gout returned and I was unable to walk.Vanessa was also ' laid-up' because she had injured her ankle however about 25 people did turn up at the Badger for the walk.

The walk took them down Millend and up to Nupend. From there, it was out to Pidgemore Farm, through the fields and back along the Canal to Nastend. Here, everyone was made welcome at Julian’s house for cakes and tea and to wish Vanessa a happy birthday.  Afterwards, the walk was back to the Badger.   Well done to all who attended.

Good news on EEA43 and 44.  The stone has now been laid in all the gateways in the Meadows. This should now mean a lot less mud during wet periods. Thank you Alan Smith for doing this

One of the footpaths that I would like to see improved in Coaley, is one that crosses the Railway line. Unfortunately, the only way to highlight this path is to close it!  I really do struggle to understand how some organisations work.

I will be keeping an eye on developments.

More good news on the footpath in Stanley Wood.  This 'National Trail' has been mis-used by some cyclists and horse-riders. The Woodland Trust team have been to inspect the path and carry out an assessment. They are going to put improvements in place as soon as possible.

The next walk will probably take place in September. I will put a notice in the two boards when I know times and dates.

Next meeting of PROWD - 15th AUGUST at Kings Head Hotel  at 10.00.

Please attend if you can.
