In Eastington, between now and Easter, we will be putting up eleven posters, mainly but not exclusively in people's windows, which are all on an Easter theme.

Why not go hunting for these, take a photo of each and then bring the set along to Messy Easter or   Easter Café Church  (see below)  -

Find the Posters Competition

– either by printing them, displaying them to us on your camera or smart phone or bringing them on a memory stick.

There will be a prize for those who find all 11.

Youth Club

From the end of the Easter school holidays onwards, we encourage those currently in Year 6 at Primary School and who will be going up into secondary school this summer to start coming to our youth club. If you are interested in sending your children and want to drop in on a Friday evening to see what it is like, please feel free to do so and we will give a tour and explain what goes on (and what we won't allow to go on).

In March, a group of our young people enjoyed a day out to the Bristol District JUMP event. One set of activities involved climbing high up on various bits of equipment. This was followed by  a fish n' chips meal, a worship time and ended with a silent disco (i.e. the young people  wear headphones leaving the leaders in peace except when some of them sing along).   In April, we are taking a group to Spring Harvest, a Christian Festival, at Butlins in Minehead.

Lonely or at a Loose End?

Watching TV recently, there seems to be a lot of statistic showing that many people are lonely and/or don't get to see other people very often.  It never seems to dawn on those commenting on this problem that almost every village and town has one or more churches. The church has always been there for people and expressing God's love to the lonely is a key part of what being a Christian is all about.  If you like getting involved in things, there is always plenty to do  and we could be doing with more help.

Easter, rather than Christmas, is the most important event in the Christian calendar. There is every emotion to be found here and mankind's shortcomings stand in stark contrast to the goodness of God personified in Jesus Christ. Cruelty driven by jealousy and indifference mixes with fear, despair and hopelessness and leads to death. This is then followed by surprise, hope, joy and forgiveness – not just for those around at the time but for us also. What seemed pointless became the most profound act in history and its ramifications are eternal. Why not take the journey with us this Easter?

Palm Sunday (April 9th) at 11am

Good Friday (April 14th) – service of reflection 10:30am

Easter Sunday (April 16th) – 11am Easter Café Celebration (suitable for all ages)

Messy Easter Wednesday April 19th 10am – 11:30am where there will be craft and other activities on an Easter theme with lots of fun and cakes.
