Beavers By the community, for the community

We are Severnside Beavers based in Frampton on Severn.  Beavers are the youngest members of the Scout association and are aged 5¾-8 years.

Our motto is Fun and Friendship (and lots of badges!!!!).

At Severnside Beavers we are always trying new things and enjoy achieving badges.  We have been busy recently working towards various badges including Global Issues, International, Animal Care, Air Activities and more.

We have completed activities such as making an endangered animal zoo where we found out about endangered animals and facts and made them into 'zoo' posters as part of the global issues badge.  As another part of this badge we visited Waitrose in Stroud to learn about fairtrade products and food miles.

One of the favourite meetings recently has to be the experiment evening!  The children made milk swirls, bouncing eggs, exploding volcanos and lava lamps and proved to be a lot of fun!!!

We have also been lucky enough to be joined by 2 volunteers from St Johns Ambulance who helped us achieve our emergency aid badge and taught us some basic invaluable first aid.

We like getting out and about and trying new things.  In March we had a sleepover at Gobananas Soft Play, Beavers and Cubs loved being there overnight, lots of fun and playing and then finding a place on the soft play equipment to put their sleeping bag was a memory that won’t be forgotten!!!

Last Term as part of our air activities badge we went on a visit to RAF Cosford Museum along with our cub pack.  In total 36 beavers and cubs and lots of parents helpers travelled up on the coach for a fun packed day.

We have another fun packed term to look forward to with more badges and adventures.  We are off to Three Counties Show and have Saturday Activity Day to look forward to all on top of our weekly Thursday meetings.

Severnside Beavers currently have a waiting list, email us at severnsidebeaverscouts@yahoo.co.uk
